Looking forward to 2024!
2023 brought a lot of changes not only in our dance community as a whole, but in our member’s personal lives. Some happy, some sad. This is true of every year, but I would like to acknowledge those who have walked through some really hard times. We, as a dance community, want to you all to know that you are not forgotten, and we know there are better days coming for you. We wave goodbye to 2023 and look forward to celebrating all the joys in 2024 together.
Good things are being planned for RCDC . . .
3 – West Coast Saturday nights. Probably will be around March, June and August – Stay tuned for more details. We are also looking forward to fun Theme Dance Nights and, of course, Rock City Swing 2024! This year we will have opportunities to participate in activities in downtown Little Rock to help promote our club. We hope you are able to join in on the fun!
During our Christmas party at Let’s Dance Studio, we celebrated our retiring board members, Richard Davis and Mary Craig. We had plenty of food, photos, and dancing!! A big thank you to all who helped put this party together and clean it up! . . . And to Tim B. for allowing us to dance at his studio!
In closing, I would like to encourage everyone to pick up your dance shoes and come out more often. You will be glad you did!

ROCK CITY DANCE CLUB’S DANCE STORIES
To say dance saved my life is a little dramatic, but to say dance gave me the life I had always dreamed of is the absolute truth!
I was at an all-time low in my life, the death of my Mom and the end of my 22-year marriage had both left big, sad holes in my life and heart. My precious Dad invited me to come dance with him at the Little Rock Bob Club. He said, “You always wanted to learn how to couples dance; they are ladies and gentlemen, and I think you’d like it”! It was all so very scary those first few weeks…driving into North Little Rock alone on what I called a “school night”, walking into the room not knowing people, what to expect, or how to dance!
I soon found a place where I belonged and thrived and began the great dance life adventure I’m getting to live now! Dance brought me my best friend and husband Mike, and dance has introduced me to treasured friends here in Little Rock as well as friends all over the country. Dance has let me exercise and stay active in the most fun way, and dance has filled time in my social calendar with places to be and people to be with. Dance has allowed me to live out my childhood dream of being “Doris Day” and performing! Yes, I do not want to think of where I might be if my sweet Dad had not invited me to dance!
If dance didn’t save my life, it surely gave me the life I always dreamed of!
