  Wanna dance?

Welcome to the Little Rock Bop Club web site! Whether we call it Bop, Shag, Jitterbug or Swing, we love to dance and we'd love for you to go dancing with us.

People from all over Central Arkansas meet to dance every Wednesday evening from 7 to 10 p.m., with beginning swing dance lessons available in the back of the hall from 7 to 7:45 (general dancing goes on in the front of the hall during that time). Look at our Dance Calendar for possible variations in the schedule or location. Our professional disk jockey plays hits from the 1950s to today, in a mix of rock 'n roll, R&B and a little of everything else. Dress is casual .

Weekly dances are normally held at the Bess Chisum Stephens YWCA, 12th & Cleveland Streets in Little Rock, Arkansas ( See map below ). That's one traffic light west of the corner of 12th Street and University Avenue, near the University Avenue South exit from Interstate 630. Check the Dance Calendar for any changes from this location. Admission (including lessons) is $2 for members and $5 for guests and visitors.

We often have special theme parties, either on Wednesday or a weekend evening -- see the Dance Calendar for information on those. Our biggest annual event is Bop on the Lake, a three-day dance party held each September in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

American Bop Association logoThe Little Rock Bop Club is a member of the American Bop Association , an organization of clubs representing thousands of dancers across the country. Members of other ABA clubs are welcomed with open arms and admitted to our weekly dances as if they were our own members ($2 admission).
